Blondie have released “Spectral Eyes”, a new single written and performed with guitarist Johnny Marr, ahead of their forthcoming studio album High Noon. The band announced the project on October 15, 2026, with February 26, 2027 set as the album’s release date, according to the Associated Press.

What is Spectral Eyes?

“Spectral Eyes” leads the new campaign and marks a collaboration between Debbie Harry’s band and the former Smiths guitarist. It provides an early authorized listening point for a record that continues Blondie’s long-running cross-genre approach. Its release does not yet establish a specific streaming figure, global chart position or video-view milestone.

Who is involved in High Noon?

Producer John Congleton returned for the album, while contributions also come from Glen Matlock, Zach Condon and members of Lucius. The project was recorded before the death of Blondie’s longtime drummer Clem Burke, making it a particularly consequential release for listeners following the band’s history.

Why the single matters

The campaign reconnects audiences with a group whose catalog bridged punk, pop and dance music. A high-profile guest guitarist gives the track a distinct editorial angle while the first studio album in nearly a decade offers a larger reason to revisit the band. Neither historical stature nor advance coverage guarantees chart performance, however.
